Your Dharana practice
Begins the moment you walk through the door.
““When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lao Tzu
2:00-3:30 pm Denese Cavanaugh, will lead this Dharana practice where we (re)turning our awareness, again and again, to the inner, felt dimension of our body. Once we set the foundation of our asana in our felt experience of the body...Pratyahara, then everything we do on the mat becomes an expression of our own life force. Over time, we start to sense the body as it truly is – totally alive, free, creative and boundless.
There are many chakras in and around our body, but references to chakras are usually to the six or seven main ones, that are placed more or less along our spine. With this Dharana practice, we will bind your consciousness to one particular object or state. Focusing our attention helps quiet the mind by closing off paths by which other thoughts instrude.
We begin this practice with grounding with Mulandara adding vibrational sound with therapeutic IPATH yoga poses. Integral Postural Alignment Therapeutics, known as the IPATH® Method, is a whole-body evolution of knowledge and action. It is a means of bringing about transformation and discovery on multiple levels. It reveals the many parts that combine the whole body, the subtle body and conscious awareness, as a path, yielding release, insight, and empowerment. Our Dharana practice will explore parts of the body to create a sum of the whole.
3:30-4:00 ~ dedicated sound bath. We’ll focus on the lower chakras and add various musical instruments that resonate with each chakra. Sound healer Jeneen Piccuirro is known for her therapeutic sound baths will provide her sound medicine during the entire practice using instruments that resonate to deepen your Dharana experience. At 3:30 Janeen will help your body rest in stillness while bathing in a full-body listening experience reaching a state of soundful and soulful bliss.
Allow this practice to help you reset through intentional breathwork and relaxation, planting seeds for permanent transformation, and well-being.
NURTURE YOUR MIND AND BODY.
